Darul-Imaan Hosseinieh Foundation

Welcome to the Hosseinieh Foundation Apsley Street Eastville, Bristol, BS5 6SP, United Kingdom. It was established in 1999 by the help of the local Shia community and support from Shia Organisations. It is the only Shia Ithna Asharia Imambargha (Masjid) in the area.

The aim of the Mosque is to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Bristol by advancing education and providing facilities in improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants.

Facilities include: Kitchen- Men Prayer Hall - Ladies Prayer Hall and Mortuary.

Function and Activities:

• Every Thursday Dua Kumayl function 7pm
• Friday Prayers 12p.m in Winter and 1 p.m in Summer
• Children Quran and Religious Classes Monday to Friday
• Sunday Madrassah

Annual Events include:

• Ashra-e-Muharram Majalis
  • Lectures in English and Urdu in the first 10 days of Muharram to mark the event of Karbala.
• Ramadan
  • Daily Lectures throughout the month of Ramadan by a religious scholar.
  • Prayers on all special nights and Eid Prayers.
• Jashn-e-Wilayat
  • Annual event to mark the occasion of the last sermon delivered by the Holy Prophet p.b.u.h.
  • Guest Poets and Orators are invited to recite religious poetry.
• Majlis Shahadat Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq a.s.
  • Lecture to mark the martyrdom of the Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq a.s.

The Centre organizes annual events throughout the Islamic Calendar which include:

• Ashra-e-Muharram Majalis
• Lectures in English and Urdu are held at the Centre in the first 10 days of Muharram to commemorate the Martyrdom of the Grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Imam Hussain (a.s) in the event tragic event of Karbala 61 A.H.
• Celebration of the Birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
• Celebration of the Birth of the Twelve Holy Imams (as) as well as the Holy Women of Islam.
• The Holy Month of Ramadan
  • Daily Lectures throughout the month of Ramadan by a religious scholar and Prayers and vigil on all special nights of Ramadan.
• Eid Prayers.
• Jashan-e-Wilayat (Eid Al-Ghadeer) & Jashan Al-Mubahala.
  • Annual event to mark the occasion of Last Sermon on 18th Zil Hajj delivered by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) at the plain of Ghadeer Khum.
• Majlis Shahadat Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq a.s. and Lecture to mark the martyrdom of the Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq a.s.

The Hosseinieh Foundation is a member of Council of Bristol Mosques.

This is the only Mosque that allows female PCSOs into the Mosque during prayers.
